'Behind the Curve' actually makes a good argument as to why we shouldn't just laugh and dismiss these types of people. It's a fascinating prospect, and one in which helps makes this documentary so 'watchable'. Now with help from the internet, they can come together, demonstrate some heavy confirmation bias and create something resembling a movement. Not too long ago (before the invention of Prozac and anti-psychotic medication) these people would have been locked up, away from society in mental institutions. The insane ways in which these people justified their beliefs reminded me of alcoholics or drug addicts justifying their next drink/fix by any means necessary. 'Behind the Curve' could easily have been called 'Delusion: the Documentary'. This documentary was at its best when delving into the 'why' of these people and what was going on to create a movement in something so absurd. The interviews with psychologists and scientists were the most interesting. A bunch of misguided individuals coming together, pretending to be intellectuals - their biggest achievements in life consisting of a few likes on Facebook or YouTube (from fellow nutters). How has natural selection not somehow wiped these people out? It was like a car crash I couldn't look away from - these people genuinely believed that the earth is flat! Then I got distracted by how obnoxious and egotistical they were.

I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or just watch this in stunned bewilderment.
